“It was regrettable. It was kind of an exchange with our fans out in front of us,” Jones explained during a radio appearance. “There was a swarm of Dallas supporters—not Jets fans, our fans. The whole venue was brimming with enthusiasm for the Cowboys.”
He further emphasized that the signal was completely accidental, happening amid the elation following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply showed the wrong finger,” he noted. “It was inadvertently done. This is sincere. If you want to call it accidental, you can. However, it got resolved rapidly.”
